What is Squinch?

Squinch Magazine is an independent, student-run visual arts and literature publication that centers creative exploration through a shared semesterly theme and an accompanying exhibition. It offers students a space to create original work with creative freedom beyond the classroom.

Each issue brings together essays, short fiction, opinion writing, artist features, and a wide range of interdisciplinary artwork—all responding to the same theme in distinct and personal ways.

Since 2017, Squinch has provided a welcoming creative outlet for students of all concentrations to contribute from their own perspectives, encouraging experimentation, collaboration, and a shared passion for creative work.

Meet the Fall 2026 E-Board

  • Svetlana Stepanova

    EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

    Svetlana (she/her) is a Senior pursuing a Dual Degree in Painting and Architectural Studies. She joined Squinch during her Freshman Spring semester as an Artist and has loved this club, as it serves as an archival hub among like-minded, creative students.

  • Jonah Mannheim

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Jonah (he/him) is a Senior studying Painting with a minor in Classical Civilization. He has been an artist at Squinch since the Fall of 2025 and has enjoyed the magazine as an outlet to showcase his artwork to the world.

  • Dylan Nuñez

    SENIOR EDITOR

    Dylan (he/him) is a Junior pursuing a dual degree in English and Music Composition. He joined Squinch in Spring 2026 and is grateful for the opportunity to be part of and collaborate with a very talented team of creatives.

    Melina (she/her) is a Senior studying Advertising with a minor in Visual Arts. She joined Squinch in her Sophomore Fall and has loved being a part of such a creative community ever since.

    Alicia (she/her) is a senior studying Advertising with a minor in Visual Arts. She joined Squinch in her Junior Fall as she wanted to get more connected with her interest in the fine arts.

    Zoë (she/her) is a Senior studying Painting, Art History, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She joined Squinch as an artist in her Sophomore Fall.
